Flowers, Fruit and Foliage

"Flowers, Fruit and Foliage"
This is one of the tiny exhibitions held by the central city Auckland Public Library on the top floor, in the small room in front of the Sir George Grey Special Collections section of that library. As you can tell from this exhibits title, this collection shows some of the material held by the library with a botany theme. The collection includes a variety of books on planets and/or flowers, set out to show some of the pictures and diagrams in the books, as well as a limited collection of prints up on the walls.
While it does include a large variety of professionally published books, it also included a few unique examples made by individual people for their own use which have wound up in the collection - the album of dried, pressed ferns made by one women between 1872 and 1880 as a hobby is an obvious example of this.
This is held at the Auckland Public Library and is part of the Sir George Grey collection.
