"Christmas 2019"
Smith & Caughey Windows
Smith & Caughey is the big department store part of the way up Queen Street, which has a Christmas story set out in its windows every year. This year’s story is “The Night Before Christmas”.

Farmers' Santa
This is the last year this will up up :( This is the Santa that used to be on the old Farmer's department store that was a couple of blocks off Queen Street, when that Farmer's shut down in went onto the large Whitcoulls store in Queen Street. That shut down earlier this year and was replaced a Farmer's again, so it's still on the same shop on Queen Street it has been for years but it's also back on a Farmer's store again. (I also suspect that the reason it almost didn't go up last year was due to the Whitcoulls having finical difficulties and not being able to afford it anymore). It used to be mechanical and have one of its eyes winking and the index finger on its right hand beckoning people. The first two photos were taken about five days before the rest as they were just starting to put it up.It wasn't going to go up this year due to budget cuts at the council, until a number of different companines donated enough money to cover repairing the Santa and putting it all up.
Atrium on Elliot
They have their blue elfs and santas back this year.
High Street
These are the decorations that have been put between the shops in Vulcan Lane, which is one of the small streets between Queen Street and High Street. And the star is on another another part of High Street.
