"The Murderer's Apprentice"
By: Ann Granger

This is the 7th book in her Inspector Ben Ross series, which is set in London in the late 1800s and follows the title character who is a police officer and his wife. I did enjoy this book; it’s well written and interesting – though a touch mindless and forgettable. It’s not a particular deep or horrific crime novel and didn’t take me too long to finish it.

I don’t think you need to have read any of the other books in the series before reading this one as it does lightly touch on important plot and character points without going into them too deeply and take away from the actual story line in this book.
