"Malice at the Palace"
By: Rhys Bowen

This book is part of one of my favorite series of crime novels. While it does seem that we are knee deep in series following normal, (non police/fbi/etc – basically anyone you wouldn’t expect to come across murders and other serious crimes on a regular basis), people who are constantly solving various crimes. This book and this series is actually really well done, it very well written and the characters always seem “right” and not over the top or forced.

For a crime novel and from the books in this series I’ve read so far, these books are light, easy to read and aren’t too graphic or gruesome or heavy. They are a bit of a mindless easy read that don’t take me long to read, but are very enjoyable.

I do highly recommend this book, especially if you want a lighter crime novel that shouldn’t take you too long to finish.
