"Lair"

Unfortunately when I got and started to read this book I hadn't realised that it was a sequel to his first book "The Rats", meaning for me it did suffer slightly from that. It was quite good, though very light plot wise and the ending showed some of the rats escaping again making it seem like a set up for another simple book about them attacking people.

It was in the middle of my range in that it was readable, but it wasn't scary at all and in places it did come across as if he was trying too hard to write a scary horror book with the way he described the rats attacking people – in places it came across as the novelisation of a bad horror movie. Which is why I think it took me so long to read this book despite it only being 272 pages long and how easily I was distracted by other books rather than finishing this one first.
