"Killing Orders"
By: Sara Paretsky

I really enjoyed this book and was very pleased I took a chance and got it, as this is the first book I’ve ever read by Sara Paretsky. I am planning on reading more books in her V. I. Warshawski and am pleased I stared with the 3rd book in this series rather than with a later book.

As it was first published in 1985, I do think that it was a touch dated – for example the main character has an answering service rather than a cell phone but that’s really it for the non-financial aspects. I know nothing about stocks and buying companies, particularly in America, so I have zero idea if that part of the story has dated since the book written.

It is a touch mindless, which does help make it an easy read. It is also interesting and well written.
