This book is set in her Sookie Stackhouse universe, but is biased in a tiny Texas town called Midnight. There are two characters from her Sookie books in this one – Barry the psychic and the weretiger Quinn. I had thought it was the first book in her new series, but the first one is called "Midnight Crossroad" which I am intending to get ASAP.
I actually really enjoyed this book and I liked the large range of characters that didn't feel as if it focused solely on one or gave short shift to the characters. It's easy to read, enjoyable, and interesting while seeming to keep its distance from the Sookie books despite being set in the same universe which I liked.
