"Crowned and Dangerous"
By: Rhys Bowen

This is part of a larger series, this one is less independent than the other books as it involves the father of an important character and it moves some of the plot points that have tied the books together forward. (The connecting plot points does mean that it is better to read these books in order, but it isn’t that much of a problem).

I did enjoy this book, as usual it’s well written and easy to read. Because of the stronger emphases in this book on the characters backstory and the main character’s desire to marry her Catholic boyfriend I did find that it suffer by being read out of order with the rest of the series. (I had read some of the later books before getting back to this one).

Compared to the other books in the series this one has been the most focused on the main characters and plot points that have been running throughout the series, rather than being more independent. This also means that this book is not a good book to start with either.
